4x6m Marquee Buyer’s Guide & Specifications

Capacity Guide: How many people fit in a 4x6m?

Choosing the right size is essential for guest comfort. A 4x6m marquee provides 24 square metres of floor space. As a general rule of thumb for this footprint:

Standing Reception: Up to 18–35 guests (allowing for a bar area).

Seated (Round Tables): 12–24 guests (allowing for circular tables and service space).

Seated (Trestle Tables): Up to 18-36 guests in a traditional long-table layout.

Buffet & Dance Floor: If you require a dance floor and buffet station, we recommend a maximum of 15–20 seated guests to maintain a spacious feel.

Weather Ratings & Build Quality

Our 4x6m marquees are engineered specifically for the British climate. Unlike lightweight “PE” tents, these structures are built for longevity:

Material Thickness: Available in heavy-duty 500gsm PVC (completely waterproof and UV resistant) or our ultimate 650gsm PVC for long term use.

Structural Integrity: Features 38mm–54mm galvanized steel framework with our signature Envelope Roof design, which acts as a structural brace against lateral wind pressure.

Why choose a 4x6m over other sizes?

The 4x6m is often called the “Hirer’s Favorite” because of its unique proportions:

Versus a 4x4m: The extra 2 metres of length provides that vital “buffer zone” for a catering annex or a dedicated bar area without crowding the main seating.

Versus a 6x6m: While a 6m wide marquee offers more space, it requires a much larger footprint. The 4m width is the “sweet spot” for most UK residential gardens and narrow commercial spaces, offering a grand, long-hall feel without needing a massive open field.
